I chose to interview Kevin Gelfand for the “Interview an Entrepreneur” assignment. Kevin Gelfand, 30, is the President, CEO and Co-founder of Shake Smart. He and his partner, Martin Reiman, started Shake Smart to bring healthy, on-the-go blended drinks and foods to college campuses. Originally opening at San Diego State University with only four employees, the company has spread to nine other colleges campuses and now has over 200 employees.
The questions that I have for Kevin will hopefully reveal a bit about his journey toward becoming an entrepreneur as well as his life as one now. While I do plan to ask him some technical questions about what his day-to-day priorities are in his position, I also would love to know more about where he found his creative spirit and confidence, how his creativity has been shaped during his experience as an entrepreneur and what some of the next steps in his career may be. This insight from Kevin would be crucial to gaining a better understanding of the true life of an entrepreneur.
